Title: One time payout for jigglyjams for governance automation
Author: jigglyjams
Date: 05/06/2022

Thesis:

Execute a one-time payout of $1500 USD payed in ETH to jigglyjams.eth (0x25910143c255828f623786f46fe9a8941b7983bb)

Abstract:

I (jigglyjams) have been working with filipv and Stevie G on automating the Juicebox governance process (aka nance) (see https://juicebox.notion.site/Governance-Automation-Overview-772dc68367a741fe9d96f768997a28eb and https://discord.com/channels/775859454780244028/955977240787685416 for more details).

A diagram on how the automation works can be found here: https://gateway.pinata.cloud/ipfs/QmZ4kNCBqCYUoNj7FNYGU1PdhUeiBzq3ur8LmgABjrwWxv

Motivation:

Manually shepherding data across the various platforms Juicebox uses for governance is not a feasible task for any person. Things must be executed in a timely manner in order to adhere to the governance process laid out by the DAO. What if the amazing governance facilitators are busy at that moment? Will proposals still get uploaded to snapshot? These processes must be automated in order to better exemplify a true autonomous organization.

Recently there was some confusion on what causes a snapshot vote to pass or fail. This occurred because a proposal that technically passed was marked as fail due to confusion about how “For” votes are meant to be counted. This must be automated to prevent any other voting outcome mistakes.

Risks:

  • The automations do not work well
  • The automations open up the DAOs snapshot to anyone with the automation private key to upload proposals
  • There are bugs in the code that will cause a mistake in snapshot vote counting

Specification:

Execute a one-time payout of $1500 USD payed in ETH to jigglyjams.eth (0x25910143c255828f623786f46fe9a8941b7983bb)

The automation already works with the existing tools Juicebox uses and nance has already been added as an author on snapshot so no further technical requirements are necessary

Rationale:

I (jigglyjams) have spent probably over 300 hours on this project this far mainly on nights and weekends. This is a small payment for the time that the nance automation has already saved filipv and Stevie G.

Timeline:

To be executed after approval on snapshot
