Thesis:#

I am proposing we cut the Juicebox recurring 10k/FC charity payout to Givewell.

Abstract:#

So far we have donated a total of US$60000, saving an estimated 25 lives from preventable deaths. We should be massively proud of this.

Motivation:#

Due to new market conditions, our runway has since shortened massively from the original proposal made in FC17 (https://snapshot.org/#/jbdao.eth/proposal/0x31e639a097f96c8e727b213e6a429a5fe7131b90aabc87626f44da2197acd03a). To increase the probability of Juicebox’s long-term success and, therefore, the amount of good we can do in the future, we need to become as lean as possible in the present. This unfortunately means cutting spending, and I would argue the Givewell payout is the first place to start. Reducing this 10k / FC payout would increase our runway by a non-trivial ~2 months.
