Title: Zeugh’s recurring payout for community management and growth
Author: Zeugh
Date: June 16th

Summary

Creating a recurring payout of $3900/cycle to Zeugh, for his works community, onboarding, visibility and growth for juiceboxDAO.

This payout will stay for 7 cycles, for a total of $21000 over the course of 98 days, with possible changing, cancelling or extending being only possible trough a new DAO vote.

Abstract:

For the past 3 months I’ve focused my efforts on

  • Visibility for Juicebox Protocol, recently being the most active person about the protocol on twitter (data from last week https://twitter.com/safaryclub?s=21&t=Ibcn9uFqBVefDsbHOGQURQ), taking JB presence into IRL events, hosting twitter spaces with web3 founders and generally helping promote it
  • Support for new members and project creators both on discord, twitter and public chats
  • Research of community and growth practices on the DAO ecosystem, which supported the creation of the models being used now to launch the community of ComicsDAO

For the next 3 months I will be focusing on:

  • Restructuring our community self-onboarding process with web3-native education tooling and better user experience
  • Providing support for questions and onboarding on our server and wherever else needed based on the experience with juiceboxDAO and having launched 7 projects myself
  • Increasing juicebox visibility trough presence in both digital and physical spaces as well as relations with other DAO ecosystems
  • Doing a new clean up of the discord and tooling flow, being mostly channels, roles, bots, verification and security for discord and a better integration with task management for the general tooling
  • Improving the analysis of our community data with report generating tools to improve our understanding of user journeys and from there work a better member retention experience
  • Supporting new juicebox projects on building their communities by being present in their servers, analyzing their users goals and journeys and providing tips and feedback on what and how to improve.

Motivation:

Our current process of getting new visibility (mouth to mouth/project to project) paired with the complexity of onboarding yourself to the DAO community, to the governance and to the product, makes our growth slower than what I’d consider ideal.

Although it was worth it letting it follow this course during the bull market, I believe the new moment asks for us to improve how we get seen by more people and make it easier for them to join and launch by themselves and help their projects succeed.

I’ve already been doing some of this work in AMA, twitter spaces and irl events and now I want to focus on improving the whole flow from discovery to learning to joining, focusing on project creators but also for people who want to take part on projects already launched.

This will be done trough:

  • Improvement of the self-onboarding flow as described above, using the tooling from DoDao and 101.xyz as support for this where it’s needed, but also with a more paced flow in the onboarding channels
  • Active search of new projects in-building that can be benefit from using juicebox, trough the network of projects and project creators that I’ve been getting myself into, offering support and demo for new projectists
  • Active search on currently live projects that can benefit from using juicebox and researching the alternatives at the same time, by asking running projects how do they currently manage their treasuries and, if possible to be improved to JB, showing them how it could be done.
  • Supporting the early community launch of projects hosted on JB, by providing a broad view of what makes a good community build from 0, ideating on goals and mechanics for rewarding to the members and providing resources and feedback where needed.
  • Analyzing our member journeys to map points of improvement to UX and churn, using tools like Kazm and Ahoy to have more clarity on our touch points and where is improvement more important

There are also other areas of current work that will be kept up like the improvement of the current server structure, improvements on our tools for task and information management across members and the constant support for new members and the available helping hand brain for any issue to be solved in the community.

Specifics:

Recurring payout of $3900 for 7 cycles(25-31) should be made to project 13 of Juicebox v2: https://juicebox.money/#/v2/p/13

Risks:

The improvements in structure that are planned might fail to deliver value as communities are human based and can behave in unpredictable manners, specially in an uncertain market.

The demand on community support and creation might exceed time availability if we get too many new projects

Rationale:

The payout for $3900 going trough the JB project 13 on v2 will be 65% directed to me, 5% reserved for tooling costs and 30% for CanuDAO JB treasury for tooling and community research.

Timeline:

Proposal: June 16th

All-time: Support for new members, supporting new project with community, irl and online presence talking about JB in events, networking and hosting twitter spaces on relevant community and web3 topics,

Phase 1: Improvements on current server and task structure

Phase 2: Improvement of the self-onboarding flow
