Synopsis

Funds an innovation studio created by Felixander at a public school for the next 8-10 months.

Motivation

In the past Juicebox has spent rather large sums of money for visibility efforts, but to date has not ventured into humanitarian/social good projects. This is an example of a social good project that will elevate an existing program to new levels and will directly translate into impactful learning experiences for children in an otherwise underserved public school. The world sees crypto as throwing money around for the sake of it, but it could also see the cryptosphere as a place where social good is happening. Other orgs have started along this path already, but for JB this would establish a social good prerogative and would translate into very positive press.

Specification

$70,000 equivalent in ETH will be disbursed to Felixander's account (felixander.eth), and will be used to acquire a variety of high-end innovation technology, including 3D printers, laser engravers, computer workstations and materials/maintenance for all of those items. This cost will also include staffing/training/leading professional development for the 3D space.

Rationale

For JB, this represents a top-of-funnel attempt to get new members into the ecosystem. The existing program has been successful, but an infusion of circa $70K will take this program to the next level, and will without a shadow of a doubt make it the most robust and advanced technology program within the entire school district. At the very least, many community members will want to know who so graciously supported a program such as this, which will serve as an opportunity for people to learn about Juicebox and, most likely, for the world of non-DeFi crypto for the first time.

Risks

$70,000 is not an insignificant amount of money, and so it is a big question whether to commit that much money to anything at all, much less something that JB has never done before, such as actually affecting public goods and services.

Timeline

With the passing of this proposal, $70,000 ETH equivalent should be disbursed. Felixander is happy to provide receipts and other evidence, including working with the marketing team as needed, to help JB maximize visibility on this donation.
