Synopsis
Renew the recurring payout and reserved token beneficiary for zhape.eth.
Motivation
zhape wants to continue contributing to JuiceboxDAO in the areas of community alignment, visibility, governance and translation, etc.
Specification
Pay zhape.eth US$2,000 equivalent in ETH per funding cycle for 7 FCs, and keep him as a reserved token beneficiary.
Rationale
What I have done in last payout period:
-
Town hall summaries. I have been making summaries for JuiceboxDAO Town Hall, which is a window to showcase development efforts in our community and changes happening in the Juicebox ecosystem. It is also a pretty important venue for community members to exchange thoughts and brainstorm ideas. After making sure that I fully digest all the things, I would compile the gist and match with relevant context, such as links, images, screenshots, so that people who are not in the loop can understand relatively easily.
During last payout period, from Feb. 1st till May 17, I have finished 14 summaries of town halls in 7 FCs, they can be found here: https://docs.juicebox.money/town-hall/ .
-
Chinese versions of Town Hall summaries. With the language barrier, it is not very easy for our Chinese speaking community members to join our conversation, grab information and understand more about Juicebox ecosystem and JuiceboxDAO, so I want to compile also the CN version so that they can get a routine update on what has been going on, and jump into the rabbit hole of Juicebox if they wish. The corresponding town hall cn versions are here: https://docs.juicebox.money/zh/town-hall/ .
-
Tweets of governance activities. When every new governance cycle begins, I will edit and post a tweet in Chinese to remind the beginning of our temp check for new proposals, as well as including threaded tweets to give a concise explanation for every proposal, so that even members with language barrier can understand each proposal at a glance.
And when temp check ends and Snapshot voting begins, I will follow up with a similar tweet to give updates about discussion gists and relevant proposal changes.
This work I have been doing is out of the thoughts of lowering the participation threshold for Chinese speaking members, so that hopefully they want to get more involved into our community.
These tweets can be found in https://twitter.com/zhape1112, and with the help of re-tweeting from our official account https://twitter.com/juiceboxETH, hopefully they can reach out to people interested in Juicebox.
-
I have been diligently working on Juicebox's project on Crowdin, and constantly keeping our website fully translated. Luckily I was able to catch up with website revamp efforts by Peel, so when we officially announced a new website, there was always a Chinese version ready by the side.
-
Educational videos/blog post in CN
- A walkthrough of different stages of a Governance Cycle of JuiceboxDAO in Chinese, which can be found [here](https://youtu.be/A0RVHJYo_Wc).
- A guide to migrate JBX V1 and V2 tokens to JBX V3 token at [here]( https://youtu.be/lYZPzrmNEWk)
- A blogpost of JBX migration guide in Chinese: https://docs.juicebox.money/zh/updates/jbx-v3-migration-guide/, which is not a translation to our English guide, but one that I wrote after personally went throught the process twice.
-
Acted as a moderator in our Discord CN channels, sharing up-to-date information of Juicebox, answering questions of our members, coordingating their efforts to make proposals.
What I plan to do in this payout period
- Keep working on all the above-mentioned areas.
- Now we have many exciting new fronts like Bananapus, Blunt, Croptop, Fair Lunch etc., which are all very fascinating and imo might bring big changes to our ecosystem, and it also seems that we might be on track to start the discussions about JBX tokenomics in the near future, I want to explore any other way to possibly help propagate the ecosystem, the protocol and the new features/extensions, while at the same trying to encourage and support more involvement of other community memebers in our discussions and governance activities.
Risks
I am not as responsible for my job, or I fail to deliver what I promised.
Timeline
If approved, this proposal will take effect from FC #49, and end after FC#55.
