Synopsis
The proposal seeks to have the 7.8 ETH fee initially collected by Juicebox refunded back into the DomainDAO project to mitigate the loss for token holders.
Motivation
In light of the unexpected delay in ICANN's opening of top-level domain applications, DomainDAO's operations will face significant obstacles for at least two years. Acknowledging this, the project plans to return the remaining 312 ETH to Juicebox, enabling token holders to redeem their investments. In a concerted effort to mitigate losses for our investors, this proposal seeks a refund of either the full or a portion of Juicebox's initial fee, which amounted to approximately 9.8739 ETH out of total disbursements amounting to 394.9654 ETH. In consideration of the circumstances, we deem a refund request of 7.8 ETH to be reasonable, as it represents 2.5% of the residual 312 ETH.
Specification
Upon approval of the proposal, Juicebox will graciously return the previously extracted 7.8 ETH fee to DomainDAO immediately after the 312 ETH funds are deposited back into the project's treasury.
These additional funds will then be available for token holders to redeem, enhancing the redemption value for each token holder.
Rationale
With the objective to minimize the loss for our token holders, this strategy allows us to boost the total amount available for redemption. It encourages fair resource distribution and recognizes the support our investors offered in the project's early stages.
Risks
We believe that this proposal carries no risks for Juicebox. On the contrary, this act could bolster Juicebox's market image as it demonstrates flexibility, fairness, and a pro-investor approach.
Timeline
We propose that, upon approval, Juicebox promptly processes the fee refund to allow for immediate redemption by token holders. The proposal should take effect as soon as possible, and the redemption period should remain open until all funds have been claimed by token holders or until a reasonable timeframe has been met
