Synopsis

Renew Matthew and Brileigh’s recurring payout for seven (7) cycles to finish the Juicecrowd 01 (JC01) campaign and continue outreach, partnerships, and inbound/outbound content strategy.

Motivation

The product team at Peel has launched a new crowdfunding app built on the Juicebox Protocol, juicecrowd.gg, and the campaign has been underway for the past several weeks. We have worked closely with the team on every aspect of the campaign and need to see it through to fruition, including post-campaign and the possibility of deadline extensions. There is significant reputational risk to abandoning the campaign mid-way and our efforts have been essential to its success so far. The next Juicecrowd campaign (JC02) will launch soon after in January 2024 and we are ready to iterate based on learnings from the first edition.

Recent work

🍊 Juicecrowd & collaboration with Peel

M+B have worked closely with Peel to launch Juicecrowd, a new app built on the battle-tested Juicebox contracts that makes it easy to crowdfund onchain. We were involved with every aspect of the campaign launch and also contributed to product strategy throughout.

  • Website copy throughout the homepage and Crowds page
  • Set-up and managed Juicecrowd Discord including roles, channels, FAQs, etc.
  • Created docs for Juicecrowd (docs.juicecrowd.gg), will transition to self-hosted and expand as features are built out
  • Twitter and Farcaster posts and direct outreach campaign to target builders to submit to JC01 (45k+ Twitter impressions)
  • Targeted ads on Twitter in collaboration with Sage/Strath that resulted in 3.3M+ impressions and nearly 4000 link clicks
  • Free mint on Zora in collaboration with Sage/Strath
  • Drafted and sent press releases which resulted in a mention in the Bankless Metaversal newsletter
  • Successfully submitted Juicecrowd to The Dapp List and earned Top Project of The Week
  • Organized and recorded workshop sessions for Day 1-3 and posted to YouTube as a resource for JC01 participants
  • Created and led workshop sessions for Day 4 (Marketing) and Day 5 (Outreach and Post-Campaign)

🤠 Partnerships

  • Roman Storm campaign: following the arrest of Roman Storm (Tornado Cash developer), we tweeted a mock Juicebox campaign and tagged his legal representation. This subsequently led to a lead from their team and the potential to explore launching a campaign on Juicebox.

Integration with The Dapp List: following our Twitter space with co-founder Nirbhik, we have been discussing an integration for projects listed on The Dapp List that would let them launch a Juicebox project and accept donations on their profile page (e.g. thedapplist.com/project/juicecrowd). Their team will handle all dev tasks but have not started yet due to other priorities. We will keep pushing this forward and will provide updates.

📚 Educational and devrel content

Juicebox can feel complex and hard to understand for new project creators and developers entering the ecosystem. Both of these audiences needs to feel confident in Juicebox in order to create a project or develop an extension, respectively. M+B have consistently produced high-quality educational and devrel material that helps make Juicebox more comprehensible, breaks down primitives, and instills confidence that there are trustworthy people behind the protocol.

Expenses

For the last year, M+B have incurred the following recurring expenses as contributors to JBDAO:

  • Adobe CC suite (2 seats) = 109.98 USD per month
  • Riverside Pro = 29.00 USD per month
  • Canva Pro (1 seat) = 14.99 USD per month
  • MailerLite Growing Business plan = $10.00 USD per month
  • CapCut Pro = 7.99 USD per month

Specification

Add $6000 USD recurring payout from Cycle 62 to Cycle 68 (inclusive) to Project 552 (https://juicebox.money/@juicecast) from the V3 treasury.

Rationale

We are proposing to renew our payout to reflect our continued workload and the immediate needs of campaigns like Juicecrowd 01/02.

As suggested in our proposal thread, we will be actively discussing moving this payout to Peel in an upcoming cycle to more accurately reflect the product-based focus of our workload.

Risks

  • Matthew might lose his streak in the gm channel (currently 605)

Timeline

This proposal should take effect immediately and last seven (7) funding cycles, starting in Cycle 62 and ending in Cycle 68 (inclusive).
