TL;DR
- Reduce payout from $60k/fc → $42k/fc
- Include matthewb and brileigh in Peel.
- Drastically iterate and improve on Juicecrowd for JC02
- Explore and integrate L2/fiat/pay terminals as projects
- Increase maintenance and improvement efforts for JBM
- One-time $JBX transfer of 40m
Synopsis
Renew and reduce (-30%) Peel’s recurring payout at US$42,000/FC over an extended 8 FC’s. Add a one-time $JBX transfer of 40m. Bring @juicecast members into Peel.
Motivation
In our last proposal, Peel presented a new focused dApp strategy which included the launch of a crowdfund specific dApp (Juicecrowd.gg). Since then, Peel has successfully delivered on all of the points mentioned in the proposal. Including, but not limited to:
- Commit to stabilizing JBM in the short to medium term
- Build and maintenance of Juice-SDK
- The design, build and launch of the first dApp (JC01)
As well as:
- Ecosystem support, collaboration, and leadership (Visibility, other projects and fundraising campaigns inc. Roman Storm)
Peel has provided a proven track record on delivering on what’s proposed, covering a holistic approach to building product (dev, design, marketing and strategy). Over this next period, Peel commits to:
- Reviewing, improving and making necessary adjustments to the Juicecrowd cohort program and product
- Fully executing a JC02 crowd end-to-end (including partnership, promotion, program execution, support and closing)
- Explore and integrate fiat and pay terminals (where appropriate)
- Increase maintenance and improvement efforts on JBM to reduce bugs, time-to-fix and cater to feedback
This proposal includes the maintenance of JBM throughout public holidays such as Xmas where we will ensure up-time and critical bug management with skeleton staff.
As a key focus for this proposal period, Peel commits to exploring additional revenue generating activities to formulate a self-sustainable position, on top of the JBDAO/JBX proliferation activities we have and will continue to do.
Specification
- Renew and reduce payouts at US$42,000 per FC to Peel (V3 project handle @peel) for 8 funding cycles, plus execute a one-time 40m $JBX transfer. - Remove payout to @juicecast project (bring members into Peel)
Rationale
Amid the launch and execution of Juicecrowd, we believe we’ve found success in the cohort style approach to fundraising. Allowing us to:
- Better identify and serve promising projects
- Provide them with hands-on support and education to improve project performance
- Timebox activities to create urgency
- Create an iterative environment where we are forced to improve each crowd
- Funnel rejected applicants to JBM for self-service
Putting emphasis on how much work is involved to currently execute a crowd:
- Promotion/lead gen activities
- Program planning and execution
- Product updates
- Mid-campaign visibility, operational and support efforts
- Campaign wrap up efforts
We have learnt a lot during JC01, with plans to make drastic improvements to the criteria, program and product before launching the next one. Some key points include:
- Providing a simple, rug-restricted token mechanism for crypto native projects to increase speculative nature of early-stage projects
- Offering different/more payment options/terminals to meet payer needs
Risks
- Peel fails to help drive value to the DAO
- JC02 performance doesn’t improve
- Peel’s projects don’t meet community expectations
Timeline
This proposal should take effect GC64. It should be removed after 8 cycles.
