Synopsis

Pay $7900 per Cycle for 6 Cycles to JuiceTech to fund the research, design and development of necessary UX and feature improvements on juicebox.money.

Expense Breakdown:

  • $3950 per cycle to Strath for UX/UI design & research
  • $3950 per cycle to Wraeth for development

Motivation

It’s been many months and millions of dollars in transaction volume since any meaningful UX & UI improvements have been made to JBM. We’ve seen a lot of growth and had a few viral projects surpass expectations, as the market heats up these insane volume spikes will likely continue to happen, bringing a tonne of new users into the JB ecosystem.

As with any application across the web, a meaningful and enjoyable user experience is key to building trust (especially important in crypto) as well as ensuring high user conversion and retention rates. What we currently have works, but there is much to be improved upon to ensure users get the best possible experience across the app as it continues to grow (outlined below).

Points to address
  • Checkout experience
  • NFT minting experience
  • Improvement and optimisation of JBM mobile user experience
  • Conversion rate optimisation (what stops people from paying a project?)
  • Project page UX — clarity, usability, navigation, language.
  • Activity feed
  • Landing page trending project improvements
  • Refinement of overall JBM user experience based on critical feedback and data of the past 3-4 months
Timeline Breakdown

Phase 1 – Evaluation

  • Evaluation — gathering data & feedback
  • User interviews + usability testing
  • Research, planning and analysis of data & testing results
  • Defining the most critical points to address based on the data
  • Solution mapping

Phase 2 – Design

  • Design for most critical improvements based on the data from Phase 1
  • High-fidelity design refinement and feedback
  • Development handoff

Phase 3 – Development

  • Development of improvements based on data-backed UI designs
  • Code QA

Phase 4 – Launch

  • Usability testing & feedback
  • Launch latest update

(Repeat phases 2-4 as necessary for each improvement over the 6 Cycles)

Specification

Pay US$7900 (in ETH) per Cycle to JuiceTech for 6 Cycles

Rationale

Having actively contributed to Juicebox (via Peel DAO) and helping build JBM over the last ~1.5 years Strath & Wraeth are some of the few people that possess an in-depth understanding of the Juicebox protocol and its complex interface requirements — this allows us to work fast and efficiently to align user needs and protocol features.

A few examples of our previous work include:

We are confident in our ability to deliver on this proposal and execute the list of priorities outlined above.

Risks

  • We don’t deliver enough meaningful work during this period

Timeline

This proposal should take effect in GC 70 and last for 6 Cycles.
