Synopsis

Juiceworks was successful in helping a number of projects get off the ground over the previous 4 months:

- Welshare Health has raised over 222 ETH https://juicebox\.money/@welshare - Biohacker DAO has raised over 46 ETH https://juicebox\.money/@biohackerdao - Gardens has raised over 12 ETH https://juicebox\.money/v2/p/697

With Filip's recent departure from leading Juiceworks, I (Jango) have come in with the intent of building on the early success. We can't replace Filip, he's one of a kind and a big reason why Juiceworks has been working. We can however learn what tactics have been working and propose a re-staffed future that plays to the strengths of those of us carrying the project onward.

I've pulled in Zeugh – JuiceboxDAO's original community manager, and 0xGogo – longtime Juicebox DAO community member who most notably pulled off the Noun Comics creation and marketing using a 175 ETH budget from NounsDAO. They will join Chromuh.eth and Palmer who have worked with Filip over the past 4 months.

The five of us will continue delivering Juiceworks as the organization that helps make Juicebox projects work. We will do so with a budget of $7,850 per ruleset, that will be accounted for as a $WORKS revnet as soon as V4 is deployed. We want JuiceboxDAO to benefit from the success of $WORKS, we're grateful for the operating capital it has provided thus far and might continue to provide.

Motivation

Juiceworks helps make Juicebox projects work. We do so by focusing on the following 6 pillars:

  • Lead generation: Find and join emerging mission-oriented communities, understanding where they're coming from and what their needs are.
    • Lead: Palmer
    • Subpillars:
      • Outbound: Directly get in touch with everyone working on an interesting crypto project.
      • Inbound: Create well-placed posts online and at events that attract questions from project creators.
  • Partnerships: Connect with organizations whose work creates mutual positive feedback loops with our mission, creating inroads for more effective capital allocation and cross pollinated marketing.
    • Lead: Chromuh
    • Subpillars:
      • Deal Flow: Find partners who want to use Juiceworks as a filter for great investible community-driven projects.
      • Discovery: Find partner ecosystems that provide quality project leads that can be developed into the next big success. MoonDAO comes to mind as an example, likely other DeSci hubs.
      • Presence: Be present in town halls and forums of other communities, fostering mutually-beneficial relationships that could become quality leads down the road.
  • Marketing: Position Juicebox V4 as the most secure and trusted tool to launch and grow Web3 projects, and Juiceworks as an approachable platform to get started.
    • Lead: Gogo
    • Subpillars:
      • Attract: Attract new users by creating a sense of curiosity and credibility.
        • Founder-Led Code Walkthroughs: Begin with video walkthroughs of the Juicebox V4 code by the founder. These will emphasize security and transparency and be chopped into short clips for social platforms.
        • Educational Content: Posts about the importance of security in crowdfunding, leveraging the trust built by Juicebox. Focus on practical insights into creating a safe project, targeting Web3 creators who value a secure foundation.
      • Convert: Convert interested audiences into users and investors by validating Juiceworks as an authentic and trusted platform.
        • Show Real People Behind the Brand: Introduce Juiceworks as its own entity with real faces behind it, distinguishing it from the anonymity of JuiceboxDAO. Show that there is a team genuinely working on helping creators.
        • Partnerships with Web3 Influencers: Collaborate with influencers who can showcase how Juicebox V4 simplifies the process of launching projects, especially focusing on security and ease of use. Their trust in the platform will transfer to their audience. Examples of influencers include people who have used Juicebox, created projects, or are planning on doing something cool with V4, but who also have influence in their respective ecosystem.
      • Retain: Retain users and create loyalty by providing a high-quality experience and clear pathways for community involvement.
        • Interactive Q&A Sessions: Use Banny to conduct Q&A sessions where creators can get personalized help, making it both informative and fun. These sessions should communicate security and clarity without overwhelming users with complexity.
        • Highlighting User Milestones: Celebrate creator milestones within the community. Make sure they feel acknowledged and valued, which helps retain and build long-term loyalty.
      • Tone & Branding: Authentic, Informative, and Personable: The tone is mostly serious, focused on security and clarity, but with moments of lightness to make the brand approachable. The branding will be distinct from Juicebox but will borrow certain visual elements for continuity.
      • First Steps:
        • Prepare founder-led code walkthrough videos.
        • Design a visual content series emphasizing the core values of security, transparency, and clarity.
        • Launch initial content on Instagram and other key platforms to attract and build trust, establishing Juiceworks as the go-to brand for secure and transparent project launches.
  • Community & Education: Welcome folks into Juiceworks and offer guidance to folks newer to web3 and/or fundraising, helping clarify and simplify each step.
    • Lead: Zeugh
    • Subpillars:
      • Organized notes and documents.
      • CRM for triaged project support so that we can provide more focused and streamlined attention when needed.
      • In real life project support and community building.
  • Finance: Help communities, campaigns, and businesses attract capital using sustainable models that fit their needs.
    • Lead: Jango
    • Subpillars:
      • Investible: Through their projects, people want to attract capital. Meanwhile, capital allocators want to attract great people that can operate toward visionary mission. Project finances should make it easier for money to find people.
      • Customization: Each project brings its own dynamic to the table, its financial architecture should be designed to work in the context of its operations, while reusing as many familiar/simple patterns as possible.
      • Sustainability: Work to achieve Juiceworks' own financial sustainability and growth so it can continue to help others succeed.

Palmer and Chromuh will be available to meet directly with project creators to form fundraising strategies as needed.

The Juiceworks discord currently has 41 private channels with projects who are either in the process of planning their project or has already launched. I've met with a few reputable ones who are coming up on showtime, and have glanced over the threads of the others left behind by Filip. There's a ton of promise that I wasn't totally aware of prior to taking over as admin on Juiceworks, and I'm confident we can add to this by focusing more on marketing and in-real-life relationship building.

We will use juiceworks.eth – a multisig operated by the team – as a trusted project owner on behalf of organizations who prefer to hold off on operating on their own. This will give Juiceworks leverage over collecting tokens generated from paying protocol fees.

Once the $WORKS revnet is live, we will be advising projects launched through the Juiceworks ecosystem to route 5% of their inbound funds to $WORKS.

Specification

$7,850 to Juiceworks per cycle, to be spent as follows:

$1.5k to 0xGoGo.eth $1k to Zeugh.eth $1.5k to Chromuh.eth $1.5k to Palmer $1.5k to jango.eth $750 on ad spend by 0xGogo $100 on transaction operations on projects' behalf.

A one time 2m $JBX allocation will be managed by 0xGogo.eth for marketing purposes. We will also ask to be sent 5m $JBX each time a Juiceworks project reaches $100k in raised funds. Valid up to three projects, expires December 31, 2024. This will override the previous commitment from Juiceworks' previous proposal, from the time of this proposal's approval.

Rationale

As we are operating pre $WORKS revnet, we want to maintain a balance of paying folks in ETH for time, and rewarding incentives for successful outcomes.

Risks

The biggest risk I'm currently managing is a personnel risk. A staff of 5 is a lot, I'm curious how folks will find and own their projects while working together to achieve our goals. I've told everyone I'm running this as a business that I intend to model as a revnet, and will adapt plans as needed to make sure we achieve our goals.

I am also cognizant of the fact that other JuiceboxDAO members will likely be helping with the Juiceworks mission by virtue of being helpful to Juicebox projects. Over time, I will continuously restructure Juiceworks' finances to support what's working and the people most crucial to the mission. The most important thing for me is to get the project profitable and self sustaining.
