Proposal date:

Summary:

In short I'd like to begin my progression from being a significant DAO delegate to simply being a fairly compensated DAO member like everyone else.

I'm asking the DAO's support of the work i've been doing to further the protocol, the community, and the project's overall amicable growth so far by way of a payout increase.

Meanwhile, a proposal is active to reduce my allocation of future reserved tokens, which would see my token share diminish as the DAO continues to grow.

I've also been working on the project for a little over a year now, from conception to prototyping to deployment. This proposal is in large part a recognition of commitment and dedication over time.

Risks:

Taking funds from the treasury to fulfill payouts is always a risk. Respecting the ETH is important.

This proposal also stretches precedent for payout amounts, but hopefully its backed by merit.

Payout recipient:

Payout amount:

$15k per fc

How have you contributed to the DAO?

Most of these bodies of work have been a team effort, some have been solo efforts. I’ve listed the projects that I’ve taken lead on, or have been a significant contributor to.

  • helped land both SharkDAO and ConsitutionDAO arrangements, ensuring their smooth launch and operations by being in the room as decisions were being made, orchestrated, and executed. Both have proven pivotal to the public's awareness of and confidence in the protocol.
  • wrote the Juicebox v2 protocol taking into account everything we've learned from V1 thus far. See here.
  • wrote the Juicebox v1.1 protocol fork and migration testing scripts. See here, and here.
  • wrote full technical specification documentation for Juicebox V2, as well as made progess on Getting Started and Learning section. See here.
  • generally following notifications around Discord and Twitter from folks asking for help, advice, and knod of confidence. I've historicall been among the most active voices on Discord in #support, #general, #dev, among others.
  • wrote DAO Foundation document, and created the first set of Proposal templates that are still being relied on. See here.
  • wrote extensive blog posts explaining how the JuiceboxDAO experiment is progressing. See here.
  • Helped with juicebox.money design decisions on the home page and project page, along with filing numerous bug reports to help ensure a smooth experience for people.
  • Protocol reliability, constantly on-call in case of protocol or community emergencies.
  • Conducted the JBX strategy that has lead to the distribution we currently have.
  • Suported the DAO's growth from an active contributor set of 2 to one of 20+.
  • Supported the Juicebox protocol's growth from 2 active projects to now more than 200.

How do you want to contribute to the DAO going forward**?**

  • Make sure V1.1 is deployed safely and migration paths are communicated effectively to projects on the protocol.
  • Make sure V2 is deployed safely and migration paths are communicated effectively to projects on the protocol.
  • Work towards standing up on-chain governance for Juicebox projects to use, acknowledging the inherent gas-cost tradeoffs.
  • Work towards multi-chain Juicebox to take advantage of vacant block space in Ethereum L2s and beyond perhaps.
  • Work towards more effective fee mechanisms to make sure we have proper alignment between those working on the Juicebox protocol, those building projects using the Juicebox protocol, and those contributing to the treasury directly.
  • Work towards more legal clarity for JuiceboxDAO and its members.
  • Make sure everyone has the resources they need to contribute effectively.
  • Continue helping to communicate to the world what JuiceboxDAO is up to.
  • Continue to help the DAO balance growth and productivity via mechanism and membership tuning.
  • Continue writing my observations into blog posts for the public to follow along and learn from.
  • Continue strategy work that attempts to support the protocol’s efficacy and progression, and corrects for imbalances over time.
  • Work more closely with translators and international contributors who are helping make the Juicebox DAO and protocol more accessible to multi-national builders.
  • Continue to be an advocate for builders in the community and beyond.

What does success look like for someone taking on your role?

Success means a DAO that is making strides towards self-sustainability, decentralized power and decision making, and running on autonomous processes, and a protocol that is sturdy and empowering.

With my stewardship the DAO should continue attracting great builders who communicate with one another effectively and are in tune with the collective sense of direction, attracting great projects who feel the confidence to experiment with ambitious ideas using the juicebox protocol, and working with other builders in the Web3 ecosystem to futher the collective opportunity space for people to come.

Under what criteria should the community reassess this payout?

Please reasses my payout if I cannot absolutely crush the tall tasks I am professing to be capable of doing. This payout is hefty, it should be monitored closely.
