Proposal date:

2021-12-17

Summary:

To be able to pay for the translators work by word we need a new type of payment structure. This proposal is to allocate 10 eth to Zeugh’s tip.cc wallet, who will make a recurring payout trough tip.cc bot, every 2 weeks, to zótico tip wallet, with varying amounts based on the values that shoul be payed to for translations in the period., which zótico should then distribute between translators based on translated and revised word-count.

Risks:

This can get complicated over time if the amount of translation grows too much and we might need to create better definitions on how this works. This is an experiment on the best way to manage multi language translations all at once and also on how to pay a group recurring with non-fixed value.

What are the changes being proposed?

[Pay $0.1 per word in the original document trough tip.cc to translators, every 14 days] [Pay $0.05 per word in the original document trough tip.cc to reviewers, every 14 days]

The creation of a process where Zótico can post a bi-weekly report on the bookkeeping channel, summarizing the translations made and the amount to be paid to each translator/reviser for those.

The suggested amount is 10 cents a word for translator and 5 cents a word for the reviewer, that is above general translation market value with the goal to incentivize people to onboard web3. The word count per piece currently in the Untitled varies about 300-1000, so we are talking 45-150 dollars per document.

The payments are to be made to zotico trough tip.cc and from there he can manage to transfer those to each of the translators, in the preferred choice of either ETH, JBX or both.

There’s also the gas cost of taking the money out of tip to be considered, every time someone reaches a $1000 dollars worth of value in their tip.cc wallet they can ask for the gas cost of the transfer to be added, and that should also be managed bi-weekly by zotico. The amount to be allocated to this is to be the average between the lowest and the average gas cost for the transaction in the last 5 days.

What is the goal of this proposal?

To create a fair and simple to manage system trough which we can pay translators

What is the expected impact of these changes?

[With the current material list, about 5 ETH to translate it all to 5 languages]

With the current amount of material, considering both translation and revision, this will sum-up to about $3500 per language. This will create the need to consider what material to translate or not and what languages to translate or not in the near future, but will sum up to almost ~5 ETH to translate everything (docs+notion+site) to chinese, spanish, russian, turkish, portuguese, japanese and arabic..

It will speed up and fairly reward the translation work.

It will make possible for zotico to actually deliver his tasks

We should allocate 5 ETH worth of JBX + 5 ETH in Zeugh’s wallet on tip.cc bot at once to avoid putting new funds in every 14 days.

What help might be needed from Juicebox DAO and its members?

The bookkeeping team will have to check the biweekly report made by zotico

Zeugh will have to transfer funds to zotico tip.cc biweekly

Zotico will have to write reports, keep accounts and make transfers every 14 days to the translators
