Proposal date:

Summary:
- Rename JuiceboxDAO Foundation to Juicebox DAO Foundation
- Add a "Mechanism" focus area to the Juicebox DAO Foundation
- Add a "Project Management" focus area to the Juicebox DAO Foundation
What is the goal of this proposal?
To update the DAO foundation to reflect work that is already being done within the DAO, and to ratify the value of this work with the community.
What are the changes being proposed?
- Rename JuiceboxDAO Foundation to Juicebox DAO Foundation
- Add the following under focus areas:
Mechanism
Build models and tools to analyze Juicebox project configurations. Develop and implement utilities for tokens in the Juicebox ecosystem.
Project Management
Regularly assess, refine, and publicly communicate the goals and progress of Juicebox DAO, contributors, and groups of contributors.
What is the expected impact of these changes?
By ratifying community support for the mechanism focus area, this proposal paves the way for future updates to JBX mechanisms and mechanics that will increase the utility of the JBX token, and could also apply to the tokens of individual projects on the protocol.
By ratifying community support for the project management focus area, this proposal would solidify the positions of contributors who are already helping on this front (such as Zom_bae and Zótico).
Risks:
Extensive mechanism updates will add increasing complexity to a protocol that is already hard for many to understand. Smart contracts for future JBX mechanics could be costly to audit, and vulnerable to hackers. New token utilities could lead to higher levels of risk for participants.
Hierarchical Project Management can grow to a wasteful level extremely quickly. It is important that Juicebox DAO does not over-allocate resources to this focus area, and that most contributors will be able to self-manage. The fundamental ethos of a DAO is non-hierarchical.
What help might be needed from Juicebox DAO and its members?
Community members will need to watch both of these focus areas closely, both to participate and to provide oversight. All focus areas should be in support of the DAO’s fundamental mission.
