Abstract#

MoonDAO has earned the respect as a leader in the crypto community and now needs to do the same within the space travel community. This project will focus on obtaining membership for MoonDAO in the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) and establishing a presence at relevant events. This is vital for MoonDAO because the biggest players in the industry (SpaceX, NASA, and major universities) are active participants in this federation. This is the perfect opportunity to attract and recruit engineers and space industry talent and to learn about opportunities to collaborate with some of the largest players. Also, this project seeks to sponsor NewSpace2022, which is a space travel event put on by https://newspace.spacefrontier.org/

Motivation#

The motivation is to establish MoonDAO as a respected leader, resource and inspiration within the space industry. This will attract people that are passionate about our mission of getting to the moon and decentralizing space exploration.

Specification#

The first goal is to apply and be accepted as a member of the IAC. This will until gathering the necessary documents and filling out the necessary applications and then providing any further supplementations that may be requested from the IAC. The second goal is to select members from our community to attend Space industry events so that we can network and establish ourselves as a major player within this industry. The third goal is to send members from our community to the largest astronaut conference in the world at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC), which is being held in Paris on September 18-22, 2022. MoonDAO will send five to eight of our members selected by the stewards to this event to represent us and engage with the space travel community. The project will also locate opportunities to promote MoonDAO at this event by sponsoring and providing MoonDAO promotional items.

With regards to SpaceFrontier conference, Pablo or Favian have been invited to speak in a panel about financing space through blockchain and crypto in Seattle, Washington on September 24-26, 2022. This conference will include speakers from major space companies like Blue Origin and Axiom. The expected audience are space career individuals who would be a perfect fit to join our community.

Benefits: Once we become part of IAC, we will have the benefits of being able to network with people and organizations that are in the space industry and will have direct access to resources that are already out there and that could benefit our community. By sending members of our community to these events, our community will benefit by attracting more space enthusiasts and builders to our community and legitimizing our organization. Risks: There is a risk that our application to IAF may be rejected, or that they demand more information.

Objective #1: To elect and register five members from within our community to send to the International Astronautical Congress.#

Key Results for Objective #1:

• Create an application for our members to apply
• Select 5-8 members to attend IAC and Network. Attendees will be expected to connect with 5 people at this event, invite them to our discord/twitter and follow up/onboard after the conference. Attendees will also be expected to submit a report to MoonDAO about the conference and any opportunities that could benefit our community.
• Register our representatives for the conference and cover travel arrangements
• Create a networking mission for our representatives to follow

• Prepare all documents necessary to submit the application
• Submit and pay for application

His legal background provides him a solid foundation in public speaking and networking in person and in writing, which will come in handy to establish a good reputation for MoonDAO amongst the space travel community.
